WHAT IS MARBLING?
Marbling ceramics utilizes a technique that's also known as "hydro-dipping," a method of applying two-dimensional designs to three-dimensional surfaces by spreading paint on the surface of water and dipping an object into it. The solidified paint then clings to the vessel and attaches itself. It's cool!
ARE THE PIECES LONG-LASTING?
The outside of each piece has a protective coating that is non-toxic once cured and is never applied to any part that will come in contact with your food or drink. To extend the life of your piece, never put it in the dishwasher or microwave, avoid abrasives, and never leave it to soak.
ARE THEY FINE TO USE IN THE KITCHEN?

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY PIECE?
Hand-wash gently with any dish-soap and avoid soaking it for long periods of time. These pieces are not meant for microwaves or dishwashers. Please let the others in your household know this as well to avoid any accidents that may ruin your Southbound design.
HOW MUCH IS SHIPPING?
Shipping these beautiful pieces safely is as important to me as it is for you. For your convenience, the cost is included in the listed price of each item. Please note that delivery is free in some areas.
CAN I GET FREE DELIVERY?
I offer free delivery to customers in Wendell, Knightdale, and Zebulon NC. Because these pieces have to be shipped so carefully to ensure they arrive safely, I am happy to eliminate the risk by delivering them in person where possible.
WHAT IS A LOCAL PRICE?
A local price is the cost of the piece with the price of shipping removed. If a customer is nearby, I am happy to deliver their piece to them in an effort to ensure its safe arrival.
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

WHERE DO YOU BUY THE VESSELS?
I always buy ceramics locally, unless a custom order calls for something specific. I support local thrift stores and good causes whenever I can, and I love getting out and meeting the people in my area at yard sales, estate sales, and garage sales. Finished pieces utilizing a "rescued" (previously owned) ceramic will be discounted accordingly.
DO YOU DO CUSTOM ORDERS?

IS IT ECO-FRIENDLY?
From reusing water to sourcing paint and ceramics from local companies, I make a conscious effort to keep my work as eco-friendly as possible. I love working with my community a lot more than I love the idea of having my materials delivered to my door from far away.
ARE "RESCUES" GOOD QUALITY?
"Rescues" is my word for previously used ceramics—usually purchased from thrift stores or local owners—that are given a new life through Southbound Designs. I never buy anything that is damaged or soiled, and every piece is disinfected and washed multiple times through the artistic process. You get a discount, too!
